Cleaning baby teethers properly is important to keep your baby safe from germs. Here’s how to clean them effectively, depending on the type of teether:
1. General Cleaning Steps for Most Teethers
Wash before first use and after each use.
Use warm, soapy water: Gently scrub with a baby bottle brush or sponge.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all soap residue.
Air-dry completely before storing or giving it back to your baby.
2. For Silicone or Rubber Teethers
Boil-safe: Many silicone teethers can be boiled for 3–5 minutes to sterilize.
Dishwasher-safe: Place them on the top rack if labeled dishwasher-safe.
3. For Water-Filled or Gel Teethers
Do NOT boil or freeze: Extreme temperatures may damage them.
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then rinse.
Sanitize with baby-safe wipes when on the go.
4. For Wooden Teethers
Avoid soaking: Wood can swell or crack.
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Disinfect with vinegar-water mix (1 part vinegar, 1 part water), then dry immediately.
5. UV or Steam Sterilizers
Safe for most silicone and plastic teethers — always check the manufacturer's instructions first.
Tips:
Always check for damage before each use. Discard if cracked or leaking.
Label-read carefully: Follow manufacturer-specific cleaning instructions.
